It feels like just yesterday. But, a year ago today we lost my dear Grandma. I thought I would post something my Aunt Sheila put together for her funeral. It summarizes everything that was instilled in Grandma and the life lessons we have learned from her and can still strive for. Grandma was a very special lady, I think of her often and miss her always.
Things we learned from Danize....
- Once you start something, finish it!
- Do your best at whatever you do.
- Do for yourself - don't depend on others to do it for you.
- Always be kind to others in word and deed.
- Be appreciative of things, always thank people for what they do.
- Work hard - never do something half way. If it's worth doing, it worth doing right.
- Do things when they are needed, afterwards is too late.
- Don't tell people your problems because half don't care and the other half are glad they happen to you.
- A back rub makes everything better.
- Education is important, never stop learning.
- The Lawrence Welk and Ed Sullivan show were the only programs on TV ever worth watching.
- You are known by the company you keep.
- A good reputation is priceless.
- There IS a "dog heaven."
- Magnolia trees can be a blessing and a curse, as can most things.
- Pansies smile at you.
- God hears our prayers.
- ALWAYS have a kleenex handy.
- There are things worse than dying.
